SKIN & COVID-19
The health crisis has led to changes in our daily lives: wearing masks, fewer outings, more restricted space, sometimes more stressful situations, such as managing daily life (in addition to working from home).
All of these situations can cause various skin reactions for some of you: your skin may become oily or even oilier, spots may appear or, on the contrary, your skin can be tight, uncomfortable, or even, for those with skin conditions, eczema flare-ups may be triggered again.
Here are some tips to help you soothe and care for your skin.
However, in the case of severe, persistent symptoms or any concerns, do not hesitate to consult a dermatologist or a doctor, either in person or by phone. You can also ask your pharmacist for advice.
IS YOUR SKIN IRRITATED?
It’s well known that wearing a mask can cause discomfort and redness or skin reactions.
Soothe with Thermal Spring Water Spray
To relieve irritated skin, you need to soothe the affected areas quickly and durably. For this, the Thermal Spring Water will be your best ally.
How do you use it?
As a spray:
Spray as often as needed on the irritated area, leave it to act for 5 to 10 minutes and then dry by gently dabbing.
As a compress for extreme sensitivity:
Fold two white unscented tissues and lightly soak them with Avène Thermal Spring Water.
Apply them to each side of the face, then spray generously again.
Repeat two to three times over the 10-minute application period.
Repair with Cicalfate+ Repairing Protective Cream
To limit blotchy skin rashes and avoid any lasting marks, you should use a care product such as Cicalfate+ Repairing Protective Cream, which restores an effective epidermal barrier function and improves skin suppleness and comfort.
How do you use it?
Generously apply the Cicalfate+ Repairing Protective Cream to irritated areas to soothe, repair and purify the weakened skin of the whole family.
If necessary, repeat the application several times.
Hydrate and restore with Tolérance CONTROL
To prevent discomfort and redness, you need to hydrate your skin well and strengthen the skin barrier with a care product suitable for your sensitive skin: Tolérance CONTROL.
How do you use it?
Gently apply the Tolérance CONTROL Cream or Balm, smoothing from the centre of the face outwards.
Avoid overly-energetic circular motions so that you don’t irritate your sensitive skin.
If you want, you can also apply Tolérance CONTROL to the eye area.
IS YOUR SKIN ITCHY?
Immediately soothe your itchy skin with XeraCalm A.D. Soothing Concentrate.
How do you use it?
Apply XeraCalm A.D. Soothing Concentrate, to immediately soothe your skin, as many times as needed throughout the day.
IS YOUR SKIN MORE OILY WITH IMPERFECTIONS?
The stress, which can be caused by the current situation, induces the release of cortisol hormones which can influence the sebaceous glands and consequently worsen your acne or trigger the beginnings of acne.
Purify the skin, reduce spots, blackheads and prevent their recurrence by combining Cleanance Cleansing Gel and Cleanance Comedomed Anti-Blemish Concentrate!
How do you use it?
Cleanse your face morning and night with Cleanance Cleansing Gel to help remove excess oil from your skin both during the day and at night and to help mattify your skin.
Then apply a small amount of Cleanance Comedomed Anti-Blemish Concentrate.
IS YOUR SKIN DRY?
Your skin is drier and more uncomfortable than usual.
Wash with lukewarm water, which is less aggressive to the skin than hot water, but not less effective.
Clean your skin with gentle cleansing gels or no-rinse lotions and apply a balm.
