Body: why is my skin dehydrated?
Just like the skin on your face, the skin on your body varies due to different factors. Cold, wind, and sun can dry and dehydrate your skin as it weakens the balance of the upper layer of your skin. The hydrolipidic film that covers it is then altered and is not able to retain water.
This evaporates more easily and makes your skin uncomfortable. It feels tight and lacks suppleness and has red patches, sometimes flakes.
This dehydration is mainly observed in winter, as heating increases the evaporation of water. This is also the case with chlorine in the swimming pool, unsuitable products or overly aggressive hair removal.
