4 tips for concealing facial redness

Have you got red patches on your cheeks, and when you look at yourself in the mirror that’s all you see? Are you concerned about the appearance of fine blood vessels on the wings of your nose? Don't worry, there are solutions for a beautiful, even complexion! Care and appropriate make-up can make the redness disappear, at least during the day.

Even and beautify the skin before applying make-up

For successful make-up that lasts all day, you should start by applying a skincare base adapted to your skin type. For smooth application, you can spread it with your fingertips and gently smooth the product from the centre to the outer edges of your face.

Going green to fight red

In the colour wheel, the opposite colour to red is green. The green “ cancels ” the red when you put them together. A very interesting piece of information when it comes to fighting redness, isn't it? To reduce the colouring on your face, you should use a concealer rich in green pigments. For example, you can use a green corrector stick, which will neutralise the red on the affected areas, in small touches.

Corrective foundation to cover redness

For an even complexion that doesn't show redness, you should choose a specific corrective foundation. This type of product is rich in pigments and will have a texture designed to conceal redness.
For optimal effectiveness, you should choose a foundation texture adapted to your needs. If the redness is slight, use a fluid foundation. If the redness is quite intense and you need a lot of coverage, choose a compact foundation instead.
To finish off the look, you can apply a little loose powder with a large brush. This will set your make-up while illuminating your complexion.

FRIENDLY (AND EXPERT) ADVICE

Remember to enhance the rest of your face!

It's not just about hiding the redness, but also about drawing attention to other parts of your face. If the redness is concentrated on your cheeks or chin, you can focus on your eyes for example. Your mouth can also be enhanced with a lipstick with a peachy or rosewood tone. This feminine touch will enhance your face while providing a distraction.
